About L. Ashley Brooks

L. Ashley BrooksAs a 16-year-old entering undergrad, Ashley Brooks saw herself running for political office. But during her undergraduate years the law began to beckon.

Ashley found that her compassionate, friendly personality paired well with her desire to help others – to make the world a better place during her time on earth. It also didn’t hurt that Ashley possessed a lot of Atticus Finch’s personality traits in Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird”: respectful, honest, and ethical. These qualities, plus her affinity for aging adults, led her in one direction.

After graduating from Regent University School of Law, Ashley opened a practice assisting clients with estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law, and business succession planning. She enjoys her role as trusted advisor and knows the importance of listening carefully to clients to discern their unique needs and goals.

Ashley has won numerous awards in her field, including Super Lawyers Rising Star, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Coastal Virginia Magazine’s Best Attorneys, and Virginia’s Legal Elite. She is a former adjunct faculty member for Tidewater Community College’s Paralegal Program and has served on the board of directors of Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) Child Abuse Program, as well as Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia.

In her spare time, Ashley loves to hike, garden, read, ride horses, and spend time with her dogs: Evan, Harper, and Rory. She also enjoys visiting art galleries and museums.
